Our Friend Mrs Goose.
Published in Library Binding by Harpercollins Juvenile Books (January, 1900)
Average review score:

As a child, more than 40 years ago, this was my favorite.Mrs. Goose was such a dizzy, scatter-brained, yet funny character to me. There was always a surprise ending and you never knew what she would do or why she did it in the first place. I simply remember most all her stories as a child, and never tired of listening to them. When I read any of these to the children of today, they are equally amused and want to hear them again. Unfortunately, I have lost touch with my childhood original. I still spend hours looking for a copy in antique book stores.

Out of the Earth into the Fire: A Course in Ceramic Materials for the Studio Potter
Published in Hardcover by The American Ceramic Society (June, 1996)
Average review score:

A necessary book for any serious potter."Out of the Earth Into the Fire" is a necessary book for any potter , and is especially useful for any potter doing their own glazes. It details in it's four chapters, although very long and comprehensive chapters, all of the glaze and clay making ingredients that you will need. The first chapter deals with the glaze cores. It talks of both the historical and the emperical aspects of all the necessary substances in use. A substance that I can't wait to get my hands on is Rotton Stone. I'll let you read the book to find out why. The second chapter is about clays and clay bodies.Although most of us buy prepared clay this gives us reason to make our own. The next chapter concerns auxillary melters. We find here about glaze surfaces; how to best utilize a substance to make a glossy, a matt, or an opaque surface. Finally the last chapter reveals all we want to know about silica and alumina. The appendices are full of useful material. There are even some good pictures in this book. An unexpected surprise.

The best book wrote on american families to the south. This book was well writing, with many unknown facts on the movement of American families caming to the Southern states. It is a shame that it is out of print.

Pennies from Heaven
Published in Paperback by Charles River Books (December, 1981)
Average review score:

Pennies from HeavenThis writing is remarkable. The book itself seems to be a novelization of the film. While staying faithful to the film, it is much deeper; and Potter's skill as a writer is breathtaking.

People of Plenty: Economic Abundance and the American Character
Published in Paperback by University of Chicago Press (October, 1958)
Average review score:

Brilliant¿¿as in, truly illuminatingThis is one of the seminal books on understanding what it means to be an American, and on what makes our character distinctive, if not utterly unique. Potter was a remarkable professor of American History at Stanford, where his final lecture in my Junior year taught me what the phrase " the crowd lept to its feet" meant. Among other remarkable traits, Potter never once uttered that or any other cliche in those lectures or in this extraordinary book. The work of a giant, engaging and accessible to almost anyone.

a fantastic collection of rabbit talesI bought this book for my nephew's birthday. To say the least he loved the stories and has prompted his imaginative and creative abilities....he wants more of these books. The illustrations he thinks are cute and laughable! . Beatrix Potter has always been one of my favorite authors as a child and from my nephew's reaction it seems as though it will be a favorite of children of all ages. This books is great for kids and is quite easy to read and understand. It is also quite affordable to buy the lot. I am about to order another of these books. Thanks

The Peter Rabbit Nursery Book and Toy
Published in Hardcover by Frederick Warne & Co (October, 1997)
Average review score:

A nice little setMy wife and I ordered this for our 6-month old son. The toy rabbit is really cute, very soft and cuddly. The book was a trip down memory lane for my wife; there were many nursery rhymes in it that she had known as a child but had forgotten over the years. It will be a wonderful thing to read to him, but it isn't something that he can really play with or touch.
